Led by Isaac Osei Duah(presiding member), Assembly members of Amansie Central District and some Chiefs in the said district of the Ashanti region have commended the President of the republic ,Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo and his hardworking and dedicated District Chief Executive,Hon.Nana Kwame Asamoah Boateng for breaking grounds for the construction of the much awaited District Police Headquarters Project at Jacobu,the District Capital.
According to the presiding member,backed by other colleague assembly members ,the project was made possible through the lobbying skills of the affable DCE and the assembly members.
He said,the construction of the police headquarters at the District will boost the morale of security (police) persons in the fight against crime .
Speaking to the District Chief Executive of the area during the sod cutting ceremony of the project, he said that,the move is to help clampdown robbery attacks and other criminal activities in the District.
Hon.Asamoah Boateng (DCE)who is popularly known in the political space as Asabee was supported by Nana Bona II,the representative of Jacobuhene,Mr.Atta Mensah,the District Coordinating Director (DCD) as well as Chief Supt.Iddrisu Abdullai,the Jacobu district Police commander for the short sod cutting ceremony.
He therefore urged the contractor to work within the specifications of the design while calling for the support of all stakeholders to enable the contractor to complete the project as planned.
Hon.Nana Kwame Asamoah said ,the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Akufo-Addo was very committed to the provision of adequate security for all citizens in order to go about their businesses without fear.
According to him, apart from the district police headquarters, the Assembly and government have done soo many things including resourcing the district police command, construction of various police posts among other things.
He said, to enhance Justice and security of the people of Amansie Central, they are currently constructing District Court which is now at a roofing level. Aside that,the bungalow for the District Magistrate is almost completed.
Hon.Asabee was full of praise to the District Police Commander and his men for their hard work and commitment which has seen drastic reduction of rampant armed robbery and other criminal activities in the area.
He challenged them not to relent in their efforts and assured them that, the Assembly and the government would continue to give them the necessary support in their operations. Hon.Asamoah Boateng also disclosed that the Assembly has begun the process to construct a lorry park at Afoako near Jacobu to also improve transport business in the area and called for the continue support of the people towards government’s developmental agenda
The DCE commended Nananom for the released of land for the district police headquarters among other projects in the District.
He however,promised to give the contractor the necessary support to complete the project on time.The Contractor, Cephil Company Ltd promised to execute the project within specifications and on time .
