Denkyira Youth Congress,  a group of young professionals and senior citizens of Denkyira State in the central region who have come together to generate ideas and mobilize resources to support the developmental agenda of the great Denkyira Kingdom is set to hold its second annual summit.

To enabled them develop and rebuild the Denkyira kingdom as a concerned youth, they have set up an event dubbed “Denkyira Youth Summit” which is an annual gathering of all the sons and daughters of Denkyira land and their friends to socialize, learn, share ideas, evaluate and rectify developmental initiatives.

DYC was initiated last year of which the 2019 maiden edition was colourful and exciting which brought together most prominent people who are true indigenes of Denkyira kingdom from everywhere around the globe to witness the occasion in Dunkwa.

The second edition of the event has been scheduled on Saturday, 29th February, 2020, in Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly Hall Dunkwa, at exactly 9:00am G.M.T in the central region of Ghana.

In an exclusive interview with the secretary of DYC, Mr Francis Opai Tetteh, he revealed that, the 2nd Annual Youth Summit will bring together over 500 youth and emerging leaders to attend engaging youth-only sessions on a wide variety of topics.

The topics that will be discussed has categorize into two sessions, firstly, motivational session; (a) Day break in Denkyira.

Secondary, strategic mapping sessions; which entails, (a) Mobilizing the Denkyira youths for development: the best way forward, (b) Drawing useful lessons from the history of Denkyira state to inspire development and progress and last but not the least, (c) The principles and practice of servant leadership.

According to him, there will be a great, youth-friendly keynote and fun social activities planned for The Summit.

“There will be an adequate opportunities for attendees to network, share their thoughts, experiences, and aspirations”. he added.

The executives of DYC have set up a seven priority key areas looking forward to build upon it, and these includes, quality education and training, health and wellness, entrepreneurship and wealth creation, promotion of tourism, creative arts and culture, leadership and governance studies, sports and entertainment and not forgotten science and technology will be on board for ideas on how to enable Denkyira citizens mastered on those areas technologically.

They however call on all the sons and daughters of Denkyira Kingdom, to attend the occasion massively in numbers to planned and empower the agenda of rekindling Denkyira greatness.
