Concerned Youth Of Asawase Mad Over The Senseless Attack On The Studios Of UTV By NPP Thugs

639

The Concerned Youth of Asawase wishes to express it disappointment and disgust over a ruthless and irresponsible attack that was meted out on the studios of United Television (UTV), recently.

These hoodlums had the temerity to raid the studios of UTV while the station’s prime time entertainment show, ‘United Showbiz’ was airing as slated, the uncultured New Patrotic Party (NPP) hooligans raided the studio and disrupted the live programme, and went ahead to verbally and physically assault the host of the program and her invitees.

Praise be to God that it has been established that these thugs were led by the Klottey Korle Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic, by the command and direction of Ernest Owusu Bempah, Deputy Director of Communications of Ghana Gas.

We condemn this barbaric and uncivilized action in no uncertain terms. The democracy of Ghana is suffered enough under this hopeless and draconian Nana Addo/ Dr. Bawumia led NPP administration.

From attacking the court in Kumasi where court judges had to jump through any cavity available to save their lives to raiding studios of media houses. This can’t be tolerated again in this country, the height of the intolerance of Nana Addo/ Dr. Bawumia led administration in accommodating divergent political views in Ghana today is everything to worry about. It is obvious the extent to which the ruling NPP is bent on creating a culture of silence to help catapult their thievery and illegality to the skies.

We the Concerned Youth of Asawase call on the Ghana Police Service to as a matter of urgency launch an investigations into the matter for the perpetrators to face the full rigors of the laws to serve as a deterrent to others in future.

We again call on the Ghana Journalists Association, civil society organisations and all other moral voices of society to speak up on this uncivilized and inhumane act by these NPP sponsored hoodlums for them to be brought to book.

Ghana’s press freedom and democratic credentials are under serious attack, and to remain silent in these moments is a subtle encouragement of such violent acts to continue.

We are keenly observing to see how things unfold regarding this particular case of high interest to us and the good people of Ghana.

Signed.
