Dr. Frank Amoakohene Urges GRA to Intensify Efforts to Meet Revenue Targets

Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister, today chaired the opening ceremony of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) three-day retreat at the Lancaster City in Kumasi.

The retreat provided a timely opportunity for reflection, re-strategization, and alignment of efforts for the year ahead.

Dr. Amoakohene emphasized the need for intensified efforts to meet revenue targets, particularly in light of recent government tax cuts, including the removal of the E-Levy, betting tax, and emission levy.

The GRA team, along with key stakeholders such as GUTA and ABOA, discussed critical issues around revenue mobilization interventions.

Dr. Amoakohene stressed the importance of bridging potential shortfalls through innovation, efficiency, and stronger collaboration.

The Minister highlighted the need for deeper engagement with the business community to foster greater compliance and cooperation.

Dr. Amoakohene offered the GRA dedicated slots during the upcoming AshantiFest to engage directly with the public, educate citizens on their work, and gather valuable feedback.

The goal is to build a fairer, stronger, and more responsive tax system that works for all Ghanaians .

As Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Amoakohene has expressed his commitment to prioritizing development across the region.
