Chief of Akyem-Afiesa, a community within Akyem Abuakwa traditional area Nana Otafrigya Agyemang Kumanin II will soon be facing a court action initiated by a Korean national Mr. Danny Kweon Young Hak for allegedly defrauding the later of an amount of 390,000 dollars.
The former as alleged by the later took the said money from him on the pretext of offering him a concession for small scale mining business.
The Chief as stated by the Korean disclosed he owns the concession and per the agreement was going to partner them in the business.
“He presented to me a documents which according to him (Chief) covers the land”, he disclosed.
The Korean continued that Nana Otafrigya claimed the concession was initially serving the purpose of a small scale mining and assured to convert it for a large scale mining for the sake of the partnership.
Mr. Danny Kweon Young Hak narrating his ordeal noted that after making payment for the concession, he later realized that the documents presented by the chief were fake and that there was nothing to prove that the said concession belonged to the traditional leader.
Realizing he had been deceived, he reported the matter to the Accra CID headquarters for the necessary action.
The issue has been processed for court for hearing on 3rd June 2020.
