Kwame Awuah-Darko, former Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and Bulk Oil Supply and Storage (BOST) and a native of Juaben, in the Ashanti Region has registered for his Voter Identity Card for the 2020 General Elections.

At the Juaben Court 1 on Sunday, July 26, 2020, Mr Awuah-Darko went through all the necessary processes required to secure the card.

After being issued the card, he called on the youth to come out in their numbers and register to give them a voice in the upcoming December polls.

”I would like to encourage the youth of this country, as matter of importance to come out in their numbers and register. This year’s election is about the future of Ghana and the role of the youth in our National Development. You need to stand up and be counted. We’re on a rescue mission. Election 2020 is a must win for the NDC. It is clear to me so far from the areas visited that the promises of jobs are still nothing but promises, many are disappointed in this current government. For this reason I appeal to everyone to step out and register, – Together let us vote for the NDC, and for President John Dramani Mahama on December 7th,” He said.

Speaking on his tour of the registration centres, the former TOR Boss stated:

”So far its been a peaceful process here in the Ashanti region though there’re areas where we had issues with regards to how the registration is conducted. However, we want to believe the outcome will be what all political parties agree to.”

Mr Awuah-Darko and his team visited Juaben Court 1, New Bomfa, Atia, Sekyerekrom, Kubease and Koforidua registration centres, all in the Juaben Constituency.

The registration exercise began on June 30 and will end on August 6.

The EC registered 2 million people after the first part of phase one of the registration exercise.

The registration is in five phases and will be rotated after each phase.
