The Ashanti Region’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) has addressed the press to correct misleading information circulating about the Council of State elections.

Led by Mr Isaac Manu who is also Ashanti Regional Secretary of the Ghana Association Of Assembly Members indicated that the party’s representatives clarified that voting had ended, and sorting was completed, with their candidate, Mr Yaw Owusu Obimpeh , poised to win.

The NDC caucus claimed that all 45 of their assembly members voted, ensuring Yaw’s outright victory.

They urged the Electoral Commission to declare Yaw Owusu Obimpeh the winner officially.

The party disputed allegations from Nana Nkansah-Boadu’s campaign team, which claimed that counting had begun and their candidate had secured 47 votes before the disruption.

The NDC described this information as misleading, inaccurate, and factually biased.

Rather than casting blame on any political party for the disruption, the NDC has called for the Ghana Police Service to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to justice.
