A female fire tender driver, Assistant Group Officer (AGO) in the Northern region, Rosemary Azure has been adjudged as the outstanding operational woman of the year.
She is the second female driver in the region from the Tamale Metro Fire Station and had served the service as a driver for five years.
Fire Service Ladies Association (FISLA) is an association of female fire officers in the Ghana National Fire Service, the Association set up the award scheme to appreciate female officers who have distinguished themselves in the service.
Presenting the award to her, the Regional Commander, ACFOI James Nkrah, commends her for the great feat achieved and for making the region proud.
Speaking to the regional command Public Relations team, she expressed her excitement for the recognition and the award given to her.
She said driving is her passion and that she has been doing it for the past five years, even though she was not enlisted in the service as a driver.
