First lady,brain project donate hospital equipment,PPES to needy institutions

The Rebecca Foundation and the Brain Project has donated hospital equipment and consumables to some health institutions across the country.

In all, seven (7) municipal, constituencies and hospitals benefited from the donations. They include New Juaben North Municipal Assembly, Akuapem North Municipal Assembly Jaman North constituency, Sefwi Akontombra constituency, Takoradi Constituency, Lower Manya Krobo constituency and Gomoa Fetteh Holy Faith hospital.
Items donated to the beneficiary health institutions include 3D Ultra sound machines,examination beds, walking sticks, rollators, operating lamps and hospital consumables.

Making the donations on behalf of the First lady and The Rebecca Foundation, Mrs Akosua Newman, Director of Operations at the Office of The First Lady said Mrs. Akufo-Addo and The Rebecca Foundation is determined to contribute to making health care accessible and affordable to the good people of Ghana, especially in this time of Convid -19.

She said while the Foundation recognized the efforts government is making to re-equip the country’s health facilities with ultra-modern hospital equipment and ambulances, it is imperative for corporate institutions and benevolent individuals to contribute to improving our health sector.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiary institutions, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Takoradi Constituency and Regional Minister of Western Region, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, expressed gratitude to the Rebecca Foundation and the Brain Project.

The Takoradi MP assured The Rebecca Foundation that items would be put to good use.

Other government officials present to receive donations on behalf of their constituencies were MP for Jaman North and Deputy Minister for Bono Region Hon. Siaka Stevens, MP for Sefwi Akontombra and Deputy Regional Minister for Western North- Hon. Alex Tetteh and Deputy Regional Minister for Eastern Region, Hon. Samuel Nuertey Ayertey.
