In such a situation our eyesight is bound to suffer. To deal with it, know all about the foods you can include in your diet, which would ensure better eyesight.

Fishes are a very good source of omega-3 fatty acids, a compound very beneficial for our overall health including eyesight. The best fishes to consume for omega-3 are tuna, salmon, mackerel, sardines, and anchovies.

Dry fruits are rich in nutrients like vitamin E, omega-3, zinc and antioxidants which help keep age-related eye damage at bay. Cashews, almonds, and peanuts should be consumed regularly.

Citrus fruits :Fruits like oranges, lemons and grapefruits are the best source of vitamin C and antioxidants. The nutrient is essential for the maintenance and formation of connective tissue and collagen; the cornea of our eye is made from the latter.

Green vegetables: Leafy veggies like kale and spinach can be great for our eyesight, while also providing benefits to the body. These are rich in antioxidants known as carotenoids, which are believed to reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration, a major cause of severe eyesight loss in people above the age of 55.

Carrot :Carrots are very rich in nutrients like beta-carotene, a type of vitamin A, that can help us see better in the dark. Some more fruits with similar properties are oranges, mangoes and sweet potatoes.

Meat and poultry Meat has high levels of zinc and helps the liver bring vitamin A to the retina. So, various meats like beef, pork, and chicken can be the best choices.
