The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has celebrated the remarkable 20th and 25th anniversaries of two Free Zone Enterprises, MDK Ghana Flowers & Greens Limited and SRG Industries Limited, respectively, recognising their sustained contributions to Ghana’s export development, manufacturing sector and job creation.
The celebrations formed part of efforts by the Authority to acknowledge Free Zone enterprises that have demonstrated resilience, innovation and commitment to Ghana’s industrial and export agenda over the years.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance and Administration) of the GFZA, Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah, led a delegation of officials from the Authority to visit the two companies on Thursday, August 6, 2026, as part of activities marking their respective milestones.
MDK Ghana Flowers
At MDK Ghana Flowers & Greens Limited, a floriculture company, the GFZA delegation was received by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Marco Hoebo; the Project Manager, Mr. Joseph Appiah Addo; and the Assistant Manager, Ms. Gertrude Herkins.
The management of the company used the occasion to highlight its growth and achievements since its establishment, stressing its commitment to producing high-quality flowers and green foliage for the international market.
They attributed the company’s progress to continuous innovation, adherence to international standards and the dedication of its workforce.
Management also expressed appreciation to the Ghana Free Zones Authority for the support and partnership it had received over the years, noting that the Free Zones framework had played an important role in supporting the company’s operations and international market orientation.
SRG Industries
The delegation subsequently visited SRG Industries Limited, a plastic manufacturing company, which was also celebrating a significant milestone of 25 years as a Free Zone Enterprise.
The company was welcomed by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Bipim Shangavi, together with Mr. Martin Kudjo Darl and Mr. Jlal.
Management of SRG Industries highlighted the company’s achievements over the past 25 years and outlined its expansion plans aimed at strengthening its operations and increasing its contribution to Ghana’s manufacturing and export sectors.
The company has, over the years, contributed to value addition, employment creation and sustained investment within Ghana’s industrial sector through its participation in the Free Zones Programme.
GFZA Commends Enterprises
Speaking on behalf of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah congratulated both companies on attaining their respective milestones.
He commended MDK Ghana Flowers & Greens Limited and SRG Industries Limited for their resilience, innovation and commitment to maintaining quality standards throughout their years of operation.
According to him, the achievements of the two enterprises demonstrate the important role private-sector businesses continue to play in Ghana’s economic transformation.
He noted that companies operating under the Free Zones Programme contribute significantly to export promotion, employment creation, investment mobilisation and economic growth.
Mr. Musah reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to creating a conducive business environment that would enable Free Zone Enterprises to remain competitive in the international market.
He stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between the Authority and enterprises under the programme to address emerging challenges and unlock new opportunities in global trade.
Plaques Presented
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Ghana Free Zones Authority presented commemorative plaques and souvenirs to MDK Ghana Flowers & Greens Limited and SRG Industries Limited.
The presentations were in recognition of the companies’ 20 and 25 years of partnership with the Authority and their contributions to the success and development of Ghana’s Free Zones Programme.
The gesture also underscored the Authority’s appreciation of enterprises that have remained committed to Ghana’s export-oriented industrialisation agenda over an extended period.
The GFZA delegation included the Director of Corporate Affairs, PR and Aftercare, Dr. Patience Agbleze Acorlor; Senior Manager, Mr. Bilal Muazu Sulemana; and officers from the Aftercare Unit.
The celebration comes as the Ghana Free Zones Authority continues to promote investment, export-oriented production and industrial development by supporting businesses to take advantage of opportunities in both regional and international markets.
The Authority’s recognition of the two companies further highlights the importance of long-term private-sector participation in Ghana’s economic development and the need to sustain policies that encourage businesses to invest, expand and create employment.
The milestones of MDK Ghana Flowers & Greens Limited and SRG Industries Limited therefore represent not only achievements for the two companies but also significant landmarks for Ghana’s Free Zones Programme, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, floriculture, exports, investment and employment creation.
