Gyataba Fires Back at Critics Over Tricycle Health Project By Government

The United Front Party (UFP) has urged the public to exercise restraint and avoid misinformation surrounding government interventions under the Free Primary Healthcare Programme, particularly the deployment of tricycles to support health workers in rural communities.

The call was made by the party’s Founder and Leader, Nana Agyenim Boateng, popularly known as Gyataba, who clarified that the tricycles are not ambulances but logistical tools designed to enhance the mobility and efficiency of frontline health personnel.

According to him, the initiative is aimed at strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery by enabling health workers to reach villages, cottage settlements, and other hard-to-access areas with greater ease.

Gyataba explained that the use of tricycles will significantly improve outreach services such as health screenings, immunisation exercises, and general community-based healthcare delivery, particularly in areas with poor road infrastructure.

“The tricycles will significantly improve the mobility of our health workers and allow them to execute their duties efficiently in hard-to-reach communities. We must appreciate the intent of this intervention and avoid misrepresenting its purpose,” he stated.

He further stressed that while constructive criticism is a vital component of democratic governance, it must be informed by facts and a proper understanding of policy objectives.

He cautioned that the spread of misinformation risks undermining public confidence in programmes designed to improve healthcare access.

The UFP reiterated that innovative and context-specific solutions are essential to addressing longstanding logistical challenges in the health sector, especially in rural Ghana. It therefore called on the public to support initiatives aimed at improving service delivery at the community level.

The party encouraged stakeholders and citizens alike to engage in informed discourse that promotes national development rather than confusion.
