Too poor to afford surgery, which nearly led to the dismiss of a one year old baby girl with persisting swollen head has gone through a successful surgery through the help of Dr. Nana Agyenim Boateng, founder and leader of United Front Party. The young couple from Abuoso- Techiman in the Bono East Region, abandoned the treatment of their beautiful baby with obstructive hydrocephalus ailment at the hospital and resorted to herbal medicine because of financial difficulties. The one and half old baby was diagnosed with the condition at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman, and was scheduled for surgery to correct the defect at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital. Doctors at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital warn that any further delay could worsen the already complicated condition which can be corrected only by surgery. Through financial support from a staunch politician, Gyataba, affectionately called has made the surgery of the baby girl very successful. When broadcastergh.com visited the baby girl at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital yesterday, it was made to understand that the surgery is successful and the baby girl is soon to be discharged from the hospital. Safiatu Iddrisu, the baby girl at large is now alive a kicking. Speaking to Mr. Iddrisu Salifu, father of Rafiatu, made it clear that, had it not been the support from Dr. Nana Agyenim Boateng, they could have lost their girl child by now. He thank Gyataba for the support and pledged to continuously pray for him for the good work he(Gyataba) has done for his child and family.
