KATH Rewards  40 Hardworking Staff

The Board and Management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has publicly recognised and rewarded hard working staff at the premier hospital in Ashanti.

The ceremony which is christened annual thanksgiving and staff awards, usually climaxes the end of year at the health facility with the 2022 edition coming off last Friday.

In all, 40 members of staff from departments and units of the hospital were given awards in the long service category as well as performance.

Dr Augustine Tawiah from the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Directorate won the overall best worker receiving GHC15, 000 as prize money while Patrick Anim from the Human Resource Department taking home  GHC10, 000 for finishing as 1st runner-up with Angela Boahen going home with GHC 5000 for being 2nd runner up in the overall best category.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER:
Addressing members of the board, management, staff and visitors of the hospital at the event, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at KATH, Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah commended workers for their continued sacrifices, support and hard work.

He asked that staff and management put in their resources and insight to make KATH the best healthcare center for patients in 2023.

The CEO noted that to maintain constant physical presence, department heads have been tasked to take routine visits to their operational areas during week days.

“The various Directorate management teams have also been tasked to assign a member to be on duty during those periods so that togethere with directors operational issues could be addressed in a swift and coordinated manner”, the CEO stated.

INITIATIVES:
The CEO mentioned plans by the facility to reach out to individuals and companies to support the bid to upgrade wards and departments to befitting status.

He noted that persons and companies who adopt these wards and directorates to carry out renovations and upgrades would be named after same.

Prof Addai-Mensah also disclosed the payment of the additional 13month allowance to staff of the facility.

“The Board and Management of this facility is resolved to do whatever would spur on our staff to commit to hard work so that we would be known as the most responsive and patient-centered facility through the provision of timely specialist care in a dignified manner to patients”, the CEO stressed.
