In a move aimed at supporting girls’ education, the Krachi East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Safo Nketia, has donated 15,000 sanitary pads to schools within the constituency. This initiative aligns with a promise made by former President John Dramani Mahama during the 2024 campaign, where he pledged to support girls’ education by providing sanitary pads every six months.
Speaking with XYZ News and Ibrahim Nsor, Hon. Safo Nketia emphasized the importance of this donation in boosting girls’ education and improving their personal hygiene. He assured the students that the current government is committed to providing essential resources, including sanitary pads, every six months.
In his address, Hon. Safo Nketia also cautioned the girls against engaging in relationships that could lead to teenage pregnancy, urging them to prioritize their studies for a brighter future. He further announced that the assembly would offer free sponsorship to any girl who completes Junior High School with excellent grades, specifically single digits, ensuring they receive quality education. This commitment underscores the assembly’s dedication to empowering young girls through education and providing them with the necessary resources to succeed.
