The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, has reaffirmed his commitment to deepening collaboration with the National Service Authority (NSA) to enhance public service delivery and create more opportunities for national service personnel posted to the district.
The assurance came when the Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Authority, Reagan Fynn, paid a courtesy call on the DCE at the Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly in Mankranso on Tuesday.
The visit formed part of efforts to strengthen the existing relationship between the District Assembly and the National Service Authority, with a focus on improving the deployment, supervision and welfare of national service personnel while promoting effective service delivery across the district.
During discussions, the two officials explored ways of enhancing cooperation between the Assembly and the Authority to ensure that young graduates undertaking their mandatory national service are effectively utilized to support the implementation of government programmes and local development initiatives.
Hon. Abubakar Sedik expressed gratitude to the Regional Director for the working visit and described it as timely, noting that national service personnel continue to play an important role in supporting the work of the Assembly and other public institutions.
He reaffirmed the Assembly’s readiness to work closely with the National Service Authority to create a conducive working environment for service personnel and ensure they make meaningful contributions to the socio-economic development of the district.
The DCE emphasized that investing in the development of young graduates through practical work experience remains critical to building a skilled workforce capable of driving national development.
He further stated that stronger collaboration between the Assembly and the National Service Authority would help improve public service delivery while equipping service personnel with valuable professional experience.
For his part, Reagan Fynn underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between the National Service Authority and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to maximize the impact of national service on community development.
He commended the Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly for its commitment to supporting national service personnel and expressed optimism that the strengthened partnership would create more opportunities for young graduates to contribute effectively to local governance and national development.
The meeting ended with both parties reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting youth development, improving service delivery and advancing the overall growth and development of the Ahafo Ano South West District through enhanced institutional cooperation.
