The District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West District, Hon. Abubakar Sadick, has called on Ghanaian Muslims, particularly the youth, to desist from negative behaviours and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the true values of Islam.
According to the DCE, many unlawful and socially unacceptable activities are often wrongly associated with some Muslim youth during festive occasions, a situation he said tarnishes the image and dignity of the Islamic religion. He therefore urged Muslim youth to remain disciplined, peaceful, and law-abiding at all times.
Hon. Abubakar Sadick made the appeal during this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebrations held at Mankranso in the Ashanti Region.
He stressed the need for Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to reflect on the teachings of sacrifice, obedience, humility, and peaceful coexistence, which are core principles of Islam.
The DCE also used the opportunity to caution the youth, especially motorcyclists, to exercise restraint and observe road safety regulations during and after the celebrations to prevent accidents and loss of lives.
Reflecting on his one-year anniversary in office, Hon. Abubakar Sadick expressed gratitude to John Dramani Mahama for the confidence reposed in him to serve the people of the district.
“Today marks exactly one year since President Mahama gave me the opportunity to serve the good people of Ahafo Ano South West District. I am very grateful for the trust and support,” he stated.
He further assured residents of his commitment to promoting development, peace, and unity within the district.
