Mrs. Irene Matilda Smith-Ansah has been installed the 27th Grand Lady of the Ladies of Marshall at the opening mass of the 2025 Grand Court meeting of the Ladies of Marshall in Kumasi.
Her tenure spans a two year period from 2025 to 2027.
The Knights and Ladies of Marshall is a Roman Catholic male and female fraternal society in Ghana, founded in 1926, that promotes Christian values, supports the Church and engages in charitable activities focusing on unity, charity, service and fratenity.
Most Respected Lady Irene Smith-Ansah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Bobso Memorial Printing Press in Kumasi, served as the Deputy Grand Lady since 2023 until her installation last Saturday as the Substantive Grand Lady having been initiated into the Noble Order of the Ladies of the Marshall in 1990 and rose through the ranks by dint of hard work.
In her installation speech at the Grand Court meeting, MRL Irene Smith-Ansah pledged to deepen the relationship of the membership of the Noble Order and God towards divine and spiritual responsibilities as Marshallians.
She urged the Marshallians to live the Christian tenets to love genuinely and truthfully as well as practicality unity, charity and service.
The Grand Lady has proposed to establish the Marshallan Scheme for Orphans in line with the existing Marshallan Relief and Development Services sailants to generate resources to bring love and smiles on the faces of orphans in the various communities.
MRL Sister Irene Smith-Ansah also pledged to continue with the development of a Grand Court building project initiated by her predecessors and called for the support of all sisters in mobilising funds and resources for the project.
She expressed appreciation to the late MRL Sister Janet Edith Mmieh who initiated the Grand Court project and the late MRL sister Elizabeth Adu-Addae, who introduced her to the Noble Order.
The newly installed Grand Lady also expressed her profound appreciation to Most Rev. Fr. Gabriel Yaw Anokye, Archbishop of Kumasi Catholic Church, Most Rev. Dr. John Opoku Agyeman and her installation Team among others for gracing the occasion.
The installation and coronation banquet was witnessed by the 27th Supreme Knight, Sir Knight Anthony Kobla Kemevoh, Prof. Akwasi Boadu Mensah, Rev. Fr. W/Bro. Gerald Kofi Massey, family members and friends from around the globe. E N D
