The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) has expressed its appreciation to the Hon. Seidu Agongo for his partnership and support towards the distribution of 10,000 sewing machines to young people and women across the country.

The initiative, according to NEIP, forms part of broader efforts to empower Ghana’s youth and women with practical tools that can enable them to acquire sustainable livelihoods and become economically independent.

NEIP said the intervention demonstrated the importance of strategic partnerships between government agencies and committed individuals in creating opportunities for young people to translate their skills, talents and creativity into productive ventures.

In a statement expressing gratitude to Hon. Seidu Agongo, the programme said the distribution of the sewing machines would provide beneficiaries with the necessary equipment to pursue opportunities in dressmaking and other areas of the garment and fashion industry.

EMPOWERMENT.

The programme noted that Ghana’s young population possesses enormous talent, ambition and creativity which, when properly supported, could contribute significantly to national development.
It said the partnership with Hon. Seidu Agongo was therefore a demonstration of the need to provide young people not only with training but also with the tools required to put their acquired skills into practice.
According to NEIP, the initiative would help create an environment where skills could be nurtured, businesses developed and sustainable livelihoods established.
The programme emphasised that empowering young people with productive tools could also help them reduce their dependence on others while positioning them to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.
WOMEN
Women are also expected to benefit significantly from the initiative, particularly those interested in fashion, dressmaking and related entrepreneurial activities.
NEIP said providing women with the necessary equipment would help create avenues for them to establish and expand small businesses, generate income and improve their economic independence.
The initiative is expected to give beneficiaries an opportunity to transform their skills into viable enterprises while creating employment opportunities for others within their communities.
PARTNERSHIP
NEIP commended Hon. Seidu Agongo for what it described as a remarkable partnership in supporting the empowerment agenda.
The programme said such interventions reinforce the belief that the potential of Ghanaian youth must be harnessed through deliberate investments in skills, entrepreneurship and innovation.
It added that with committed leaders and partners supporting young people, Ghana could continue to build a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem capable of creating opportunities and securing sustainable futures.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The programme further stressed the importance of equipping citizens with the tools needed to innovate, achieve independence and participate actively in the country’s economic development.

It said the distribution of the 10,000 sewing machines should therefore be viewed not merely as the provision of equipment but as an investment in the productive capacity of Ghana’s youth and women.

NEIP expressed optimism that beneficiaries would put the machines to productive use and use the opportunity to build sustainable businesses.

The programme maintained that supporting entrepreneurship remained crucial to addressing unemployment, promoting self-reliance and strengthening Ghana’s economy.

It reiterated its commitment to working with partners to create an enabling environment where young people could develop their talents, pursue entrepreneurial opportunities and contribute to national development.

“Empowering the youth, stitching Ghana’s future,” NEIP said, underscoring the broader vision behind the initiative.
