Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) customers in several communities in the Ashanti Region are expected to experience a temporary power outage tomorrow, Thursday, August 20, 2026, as the company undertakes planned maintenance works.

The exercise, according to ECG, forms part of efforts to improve service delivery and enhance the reliability of electricity supply to customers in the affected areas.

In a notice issued by ECG, the planned maintenance is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.

The company explained that the maintenance works would require a temporary interruption in power supply to facilitate the exercise.

The affected communities and locations include Kronom Cement, Boussie, Asuofua, Heman, Amoaman, Adankwame, Adugyama, Nketiah, Kokote, Abira, Namong, Barekese Headworks, Akyease Booster Station and Offinso.

Other areas listed by ECG are KCG, Ahenkro, Kodie, Apagya, Aduamoah, Denase, Akom, Mowire, Amoako, Boamang and Tetrem, as well as surrounding communities.

ECG said the temporary interruption was necessary to enable its technical teams to carry out the scheduled works safely and efficiently.
The company urged residents, businesses and other electricity consumers within the affected areas to take note of the scheduled interruption and make the necessary arrangements ahead of the exercise.
The maintenance is expected to contribute to improved electricity service delivery once the work is completed.
ECG expressed regret over the inconvenience the planned outage might cause customers and appealed for their understanding and cooperation during the exercise.

The company has, therefore, advised customers within the affected communities to plan their activities accordingly, particularly businesses and institutions whose operations depend heavily on electricity.

The planned exercise is part of ECG’s ongoing maintenance programme aimed at improving its network and ensuring more reliable electricity supply to consumers.

Customers in the affected areas are expected to regain power after the maintenance exercise, subject to the successful completion of the scheduled works.
