Strange death, disappearance and sicknesses have strike the people of Terchire community, a farming community in the Tano North Municipality in the Ahafo Region. Addressing the media to put before Otumfuor Osei Tutu II,the Overlord of Asante their grievances, Mr. Bernard K. Fosu, youth chairman of the community attributed the Strange death and disappearance of community members to the absence of Chief in the community for the past 15 years. According to him,there is no chief in the area to ensure that the gods of the land are protected, fed, purified and to ensure that rules and regulations governing the community is safeguarded. This he believes has angered the gods thereby leading to the alarming rate of deaths, sicknesses and indiscriminate disappearance of community members. Adding that, living in Terchire community now is like a hell since the chief of the area, Nana Agyenim Boateng I died in 19th February, 2005. He said, there has never be peace since the departure of the Chief. This he said has resulted in gross disrespect, fight and unemployment among the youth and community members in the area. He revealed that, the absence of chief in the area has totally deprived the community for benefiting from any developmental projects in the country . Sounding very emotional, Mr. Bernard K. Fosu appealed to Asantehene to as a matter of urgency help solve the chieftaincy problem in the area and to immediately install them a Chief since it has retarded the development of the community for long.
