TCDA opens national service recruitment for 2026/2027 service year

The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) has announced a recruitment drive for eligible graduates and other qualified applicants under the 2026/2027 National Service Programme, with opportunities available across all 16 regions of Ghana.

The initiative is aimed at attracting national service personnel with relevant academic and professional backgrounds to support the Authority’s operations and activities in the tree crops sector.

According to the recruitment notice, applicants with training in agriculture, crop and plant sciences, agribusiness, agricultural economics, engineering, biotechnology, food sciences, forestry, natural resources and environmental studies, among other disciplines, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Wide range of disciplines.

Under General Agriculture, the TCDA is seeking applicants with qualifications in areas including BSc Agriculture, BSc Agricultural Technology, BSc Agricultural Science, Bachelor of Education (BEd) Agricultural Science, Diploma in Agriculture, Diploma in Agricultural Technology and Certificate in Agriculture.

Applicants with backgrounds in Crop and Plant Sciences are also encouraged to apply. Relevant areas include Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, Plant Breeding, Seed Science and Technology, Soil Science, and Crop and Soil Science.

The recruitment also covers Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics, with opportunities for applicants who have studied Agribusiness, Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural and Food Economics, Agricultural Project Management, Agricultural Marketing and Agricultural Finance.

Engineering and food sciences
The Authority is further seeking national service personnel with expertise in Agricultural Engineering and Mechanisation.

Relevant areas include Agricultural Mechanisation, Farm Power and Machinery, Irrigation Technology and Agricultural Engineering.

Under Biotechnology and Food Sciences, applicants with qualifications in Agricultural Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology, Food Systems and Food Processing Technology are encouraged to apply.
The notice also lists opportunities under Forestry and Natural Resources, as well as Environmental Programmes, including Renewable Natural Resources and Climate and Sustainable Agriculture, with the latter available to postgraduates in some institutions.
Opportunities beyond agriculture
The recruitment is not limited to agriculture-related disciplines.
The TCDA has indicated that applicants with backgrounds in Accounting and Finance, Public Relations, Communication Studies, Graphic Design, Information Technology and Computer Science are also eligible and highly encouraged to apply.
Specifically, the listed programmes include BSc Accounting and Finance; BA Public Relations or BA Communication Studies; BA/Diploma Graphic Design; BSc/Diploma Information Technology; and BSc Computer Science.
The broad range of disciplines is expected to provide opportunities for national service personnel to contribute to different aspects of the Authority’s administrative, technical, communication and operational activities.
Deployment across Ghana
The TCDA recruitment is open for deployment in all 16 regions of Ghana, giving successful applicants the opportunity to undertake their national service in various parts of the country.
The Authority urged interested and eligible applicants to take advantage of the opportunity and submit their applications before the stated deadline.
