The Adum Kwanwoma Chiefs and Elders, in collaboration with Dr. Akwasi Boakye Agyenim Ahmed and his team from Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), recently organized a free eye screening exercise for the residents of Adum Kwanwoma.
The event, aimed at promoting eye health and providing access to quality eye care services, saw a significant turnout of community members. The screening exercise was conducted by a team of experienced ophthalmologists and optometrists from KATH, who provided comprehensive eye examinations and consultations to attendees.
According to reports, individuals with minor eye problems were given spectacles and medication, while those with more serious conditions were referred to KATH for further treatment.
The event also featured health education and awareness sessions, emphasizing the importance of regular eye check-ups and early detection of eye diseases.
Dr. Ahmed, who led the medical team, expressed his gratitude to the Adum Kwanwoma Chiefs and Elders for their support and collaboration in organizing the event. He emphasized the importance of community-based health initiatives, stating that they play a crucial role in promoting health and well-being, particularly in underserved communities.
