The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has marked this year’s Workers’ Day with a vibrant wellness programme aimed at promoting employee wellbeing, teamwork, and work-life balance.

Held under the theme “Work Well, Live Well,” the event brought together management and staff in an engaging session focused on health, productivity, and professional growth.
Addressing participants, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations, Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu, urged staff to continue upholding the Authority’s core values of excellence, accountability, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The Chief Executive Officer of GFZA, Dr. Mary Awusi, also commended staff and stakeholders for their commitment and hard work, noting that their dedication remains central to the Authority’s continued success and contribution to Ghana’s economic development.
A major highlight of the celebration was a wellness and mobility session facilitated by Ms. Lizette Beri of Brain Fitness Centre Africa. The interactive session exposed staff to practical stress management techniques and healthy lifestyle practices aimed at improving physical and mental wellbeing in the workplace.
The programme also featured a colourful display of creativity, as staff dressed in attires representing various professions and sectors of the economy. The showcase underscored the dignity of labour and the important contributions of workers across all industries toward national development.

According to the Authority, the “Work Well, Live Well” initiative reflects GFZA’s commitment to building not only a productive workforce, but also a healthy, motivated, and united team.
The event formed part of activities commemorating International Workers’ Day and aligns with the Authority’s broader agenda of fostering employee welfare and organisational excellence.
