The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting foreign direct investment and strengthening international business partnerships following its participation in the Swiss Business Lunch hosted by the Embassy of Switzerland in Ghana.

The event, held at the official residence of the Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Simone Giger, brought together members of the Swiss business community, representatives of Swiss companies operating in Ghana and key stakeholders to discuss investment, trade and the business climate in the country.

Representing the GFZA, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Finance and Administration, Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah, delivered the keynote presentation, highlighting the significant contribution of Swiss investments to Ghana’s Free Zones Programme.
He noted that Swiss-owned Free Zone Enterprises had played an important role in Ghana’s industrialisation drive through substantial investments, job creation and export earnings, contributing positively to the country’s economic growth.
Mr. Musah also outlined the various incentives and opportunities available under the Free Zones Scheme, stressing that the Authority remained committed to creating an enabling environment for investors through efficient support services and investor-friendly policies.
He commended Ambassador Simone Giger for her efforts in strengthening economic cooperation between Ghana and Switzerland during her tenure, describing her contribution as instrumental in deepening bilateral business relations.
The presentation was followed by an interactive session where participants raised questions on operational and policy issues affecting businesses in Ghana. The discussions focused on improving the investment climate and addressing challenges faced by investors.
The Director of Corporate Affairs, Public Relations and Aftercare, Dr. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, and the Director of Marketing and Investment Promotion, Ms. Anita Novi Quashie, contributed to the discussions and provided responses to issues raised by participants.
The event also served as a platform for recognising Ambassador Giger’s dedicated service. She was presented with gifts by stakeholders in appreciation of her contribution to promoting trade and investment relations between the two countries.
Expressing gratitude for the honour, Ambassador Giger thanked the Swiss business community and partner institutions for their support and collaboration throughout her tenure in Ghana.

The programme concluded with business-to-business networking sessions, allowing participants to exchange contacts, explore investment opportunities and discuss potential partnerships.

Other officials from the GFZA who attended the event included the Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations, Mr. Bilal Muazu Sulemana; Marketing and Investment Promotion Officer, Mr. Kelvin Morgan Kwesi Ayesu; and Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Benjamin Owusu Danso.
