The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has announced plans to revive the dilapidated Drobonso E-block Senior High School, which was abandoned by the previous NPP government for 8 years.
Dr. Amoakohene made the announcement during a visit to the school last Friday , where he assessed the state of the facilities.
The Minister expressed concern over the neglect of the school, which has resulted in deteriorating infrastructure and inadequate learning conditions for students.
“It is unacceptable that a school like this, which has the potential to provide quality education to the youth of this community, has been left to rot for 8 years,” Dr. Amoakohene said. “As the Regional Minister, I am committed to ensuring that this school is revived and restored .”
The Minister revealed that his office has already begun engaging with stakeholders, including the Ghana Education Service and the District Assembly, to develop a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate the school.
“We will work tirelessly to ensure that this school is equipped with the necessary infrastructure and resources to provide a conducive learning environment for students,” Dr. Amoakohene assured.
The revival of the Drobonso E-block SHS is expected to have a positive impact on education in the region, providing opportunities for hundreds of students to access quality secondary education.
Residents of Drobonso and surrounding communities have welcomed the Minister’s announcement, expressing gratitude for the government’s commitment to improving education in the region.
“We are thrilled that the Minister has taken notice of our plight and is taking concrete steps to address it,” said a local resident. “We look forward to seeing the transformation of our school and the positive impact it will have on our children’s education.”
