President Petr Pavel of the Czech Republic has arrived in Accra, Ghana, for a three-day state visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations. Upon arrival, he was warmly received at the airport by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah.
President Pavel is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President John Mahama to discuss areas of mutual interest and cooperation.
The Czech President will address a business forum to promote trade and investment opportunities between Ghana and the Czech Republic.
President Pavel will inaugurate a Czech-funded health facility, demonstrating the Czech Republic’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s healthcare sector.
He will also visit the Osu Castle and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, showcasing the rich history and cultural heritage of Ghana .
The state visit is expected to enhance cooperation between Ghana and the Czech Republic in various areas, including trade, investment, and development. President Pavel’s visit will also provide an opportunity for both leaders to exchange views on regional and global issues of common interest.
During his visit, President Pavel has expressed strong criticism of the recent tariffs imposed by the United States on African nations, including Ghana. He emphasized the need for fair trade practices and cooperation between nations to promote economic growth and development.
After meeting with President Mahama, both leaders will address a joint press conference to share their perspectives on the state visit and the outcomes of their discussions.
