The National Democratic Congress Party (NDC), has been urged to fiercely reject any attempts to transmit  electronically, results of next year’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Instead, the Party had been asked to stand firm to ensure results are transmitted manually.

A senior lecturer at the Kumasi Campus of the University of Education, Winneba, Dr Yarhands Dissou Arthur, who made the call said, it would be a great disservice to the Party’s political fortunes if that would be allowed.

The mathematics lecturer was interacting with a section of the media, here.

He indicated that snippets of information gathered from the election management body after the 2016 polls had it that the electoral system had been compromised and could not be deemed sacrosanct, as it was revealed that the system was hacked.

Dr.Arthur noted that the body language of Ms.Jean Mensah-led Electoral Commission, “suggests that they are in bed with the ruling News Patriotic Party, (NPP) and can therefore, not under any circumstances, be trusted”.

He said, the NPP government had woefully failed to address the basic challenges confronting Ghanaians and would lose the 2020 presidential elections “when a level playing-field is provided for the competing parties and candidates”.

Dr. Arthur told the NDC that they should not just be happy with the inter party advisory committee because they could not curb electoral fraud committed during electronic transmission election results.

He reiterated the call on the National Executives of the NDC to  boldly insist on the use of the  manual transmission of votes which  had been a tried and tested method of gathering election results.
