Former Parliamentary Aspirant for Manso Nkwanta, Hon. Fredrick Kwadwo Nkansah, has condemned what he described as an “unfortunate assault” on a polling station executive during the ongoing album compilation exercise in the constituency.

In a press statement issued on Friday, Hon. Nkansah, widely known as Hon. Yentumi, said the incident was “deeply disturbing” and cited reports of continued threats and intimidation against party members.

“Some members continue to face threats, intimidation, and fear, with reports of further harm being directed at innocent party faithful. Such acts are unacceptable and have no place in our great party,” he stated.

Hon. Yentumi expressed concern that “loyal members who have sacrificed immensely for the growth and success of the party are now living in fear,” and wished the assaulted victim a speedy recovery.

The former aspirant called on Regional and Constituency Executives, the Party Chairman, the General Secretary, security agencies, and other stakeholders to “urgently intervene and restore peace and security before the situation escalates further.”

He urged affected members to remain calm and law-abiding, warning against retaliation. “Let us protect our unity and ensure that intimidation and political misconduct do not destroy the peace and future of Manso Nkwanta,” he said.

The album compilation is an internal party exercise to update the register of delegates ahead of primaries and other electoral processes. The elephant emblem on the letterhead indicates the statement concerns the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

As of press time, the Manso Nkwanta Constituency Executives and the Ashanti Regional Police Command had not publicly commented on the reported assault.
