Ashanti Regional Minister Urges Reflection, Renewal, and Unity on Republic Day

In a powerful address at the Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC) during the Republic Day Thanksgiving Service yesterday, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene called on Ghanaians to reflect, reset, and renew their collective commitment to building a better nation.

The minister emphasized that Republic Day is not just a ceremonial event, but a sacred call to action.

According to the minister, reflection is essential to understanding Ghana’s journey as a nation, including the choices made and values lost along the way. “We must reflect with honesty on our journey as a nation—where we have come from, the choices we have made, and the values we may have lost along the way,” the minister stated.

The minister also stressed the need to reset and realign with the founding principles of integrity, unity, and justice.

“To reset means we must realign ourselves with the founding principles of integrity, unity, and justice,” the minister emphasized.

Furthermore, the minister called for renewal and recommitment to serving not only oneself but also future generations. “And to renew is to recommit our hearts and hands to serve not only ourselves but the generations to come,” the minister added.

The minister paid tribute to the selflessness and vision of Ghana’s forebears, who believed in a Ghana led by Ghanaians—for Ghanaians. “Let us remember the selflessness and vision of our forebears who believed in a Ghana led by Ghanaians—for Ghanaians,” the minister said. “We must not erode that legacy with division, apathy, or selfishness.”

The minister expressed gratitude to the leadership of CCC for their warm reception and spiritual guidance, which has been instrumental in shaping the region and the nation. “Grateful to the leadership of CCC for the warm reception and the spiritual guidance they continue to offer our region and our nation,” the minister said.

In conclusion, the minister urged Ghanaians to play their part in shaping a Republic worthy of its promise. “May we each play our part in shaping a Republic worthy of its promise,” the minister concluded.
