Former Assin Central Member of Parliament and businessman, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has demonstrated his commitment to child welfare and social responsibility with a generous donation to the Kumasi Children’s Home in the Ashanti Region.

The donation, which included assorted food items, toiletries, beverages, clothing and other essential supplies, was presented on his behalf by Lawyer Kusi during a brief ceremony at the facility.
Presenting the items, Lawyer Kusi said the gesture formed part of Mr Agyapong’s long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society, particularly children who depend on institutional care for their upbringing and well-being.
According to him, Mr Agyapong believes that every child deserves the opportunity to grow in a safe and nurturing environment, regardless of their circumstances.
“Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has always maintained that children are the future of our nation and must be given the necessary support to thrive. This donation is a reflection of his desire to put smiles on the faces of these children and contribute to their welfare,” Lawyer Kusi stated.
He noted that the former legislator remains passionate about humanitarian causes and will continue to support initiatives aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged groups across the country.
The management of the Kumasi Children’s Home expressed profound gratitude to Mr Agyapong for the timely intervention, describing the donation as a significant contribution towards the upkeep of the children.
Receiving the items, officials of the home said the donation would go a long way in easing some of the challenges faced by the institution in providing daily necessities for the children under its care.
They commended Mr Agyapong for remembering the needs of vulnerable children and called on other philanthropists, corporate organisations and individuals to emulate the gesture.
Some of the children at the facility expressed excitement over the donation and thanked the former Member of Parliament for his kindness and generosity.
The presentation forms part of a broader tradition of philanthropy associated with Mr Agyapong, who has over the years supported educational institutions, health facilities, religious organisations and various social intervention programmes across the country.
Community members and stakeholders who witnessed the presentation praised the initiative, noting that such acts of charity play an important role in complementing government efforts to improve the welfare of children and other vulnerable groups.
The event ended with prayers for Mr Agyapong and his team, as management of the home reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality care, protection and guidance to the children entrusted to the institution.
