My first day at school as its usually called begins nationwide as the academic year of 2019/2020 began earnestly with the introduction of new curriculum into the basic schools in the country’s educational system. Day one of the reopening which saw the beginning of children at the age of 3 and 4 at the kindergarten and some promoted to basic one. The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Aowin marked the day with the children by distributing school uniforms and sharing soft drinks and biscuits to some basic schools in the Municipality.Addressing the pupils, Mr. Samuel Adu-Gyamfi said government has education as of its priorities hence introduction of free education from the basic to senior high level and has plans to extend it to tertiary institutions.The MCE advised the school children to take the opportunity of the free education and study assiduously so that they can become great men and women in the near future.You have to be regular at school, respectful and take all your lessons serious, he add.Mr. Adu-Gyamfi used the occasion to advise the teachers to also keep their eyes on the children since parents have the trust in them to inculcate into their children to become good citizens and responsible in the futureSource :broadcastergh.com /Ayisah Foster Related Articles
